Students will study and journalism projects, getting journalism experience and getting hands-on training. Students will create up to three reporting assignments that will appear on our WordPress site. The class will also have a variety of guest speakers, such as, the Associated Press, BBC, Reuters, the New York Times, Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty, and several Czech journalists. These journalists will offer the students advice on everything about reporting.
Students who successfully complete the program will receive credit for:
- JEM 491: Foreign Study: Going on Assignment in Prague (3 credits, undergraduate students) OR
- JEM 593: Special Topics: Going on Assignment in Prague (3 credits, graduate students)

A semester program for the Spring of 2020 and students earn 13 hours of credit including a UT course on intercultural communication – a course taught at the University of Sydney on the history and culture of Australia, and an 8-week internship in Sydney. Sydney is built around one of the world’s most beautiful harbors, and the white-sailed Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge and more importantly, Sydney has emerged as a major cultural melting pot.
