Society for Neuroscience, (the professional society for neurosurgeons, neurologists, and neuroscientists), has chosen Emma Macmillan as one of two students nationally for their Science Journalism Student Award, which includes an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. in November to cover their annual scientific conference, under the mentorship of a noted medical-science writer. Macmillan is currently employed by ORNL and the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education and is preparing for graduate study in science writing.
