Students to produce documentary for East Tenn. PBS
UT student filmmakers have been selected to create eight-minute documentaries relating to the Vietnam War through Landgrant Films.
The three short documentaries will come together in a half-hour program that will premiere in coordination with the release of Ken Burns’ new documentary, The Vietnam War, on East Tennessee PBS this September.
Isaac Ward, Jesse Tipton and Issac Fowler & Tim Morris will begin to create their submitted proposals over the summer. Film festival screens JEM students’ work

Landgrant Films’ latest documentary will screen at the Knoxville Film Festival. Reaching Recovery: Pregnancy and Addiction in East Tennessee examines children born drug-dependent in East Tennessee. The half-hour documentary was produced by JEM Assistant Professor Nick Geidner and crewed by 10 journalism students.
“I am proud of our student’s and the work they have done,” Geidner said, “And we are excited to share this issue with the community.”
