Esquire Magazine speaks with JEM magazine and feature writing class
Esquire Magazine writer Tom Junod recently spoke via Skype to Chris Wohlwend’s JEM 414 class (Magazine and Feature Writing), sharing his expertise on interviewing and writing. Junod, two-time winner of the National Magazine Award, has written for GQ, Sports Illustrated, Outside, Life, and numerous other publications. He has been writer-at-large for Esquire since 1996. Junod, who wrote the Esquire article on which the documentary The Falling Man was based, also participated in the CCI event held on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

Alumnus Spotlight: Zac Ellis takes over Heisman Watch column on SI.com
JEM graduate Zac Ellis has been named the new author of the Sports Illustrated Heisman Watch column on SI.com.
“It’s called Heisman Watch, which is exactly what it sounds like: I rank the field’s Heisman contenders based on each week’s performances,” Ellis said in an e-mail to Dr. Elizabeth Hendrickson about the column.
In addition to writing the column, which will appear every Monday, Ellis will have the opportunity to travel to the Heisman Award ceremony in New York City in December and will be asked to submit his vote for the award.
