Description of Opportunity
The purpose of the Pellissippi State Community College’s Internship Program is to attract diverse candidates to the college who can provide a new perspective on organizational issues and introduce best practices within higher education or a departmental discipline.
All interns will be expected to rotate through various aspects of the department to gain institutional knowledge to include shadowing management. Interns will interact with executive leadership and, depending on the department, parents, students, and outside vendors.
The intern is responsible for finding suitable housing within the Knoxville metropolitan area. Preference in hiring will be given to Junior and Senior undergraduates and graduate students enrolled in a relevant degree program.
Internships may be conducted during any academic semester (18 weeks) or during the summer (11 weeks). Interns will be expected to work up to 30 hours per week Compensation* Undergraduate interns: $13 ; Graduate interns: $15
*Does not apply if the intern’s institution prohibits compensation in lieu of course credit.
Athletics Department Intern
Seeking motivated and dedicated intern(s) to join our collegiate athletic program in a variety of roles (see below). This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supporting the operations and logistics of our athletic program. The intern(s) will work closely with the Athletic Director and/or coaching staff and players to ensure the smooth functioning of various administrative tasks, events, practices, games, team activities, and other duties as assigned. Additional details will be provided during hiring and onboarding process.
