Sports Writer
The Maryville Daily Times is looking for a practicum sports writer to help with our coverage of our six local teams (Alcoa, Maryville, William Blount, Heritage, Greenback and Eagleton) this upcoming prep football season. Duties include attending games, providing updates via social media, and submitting engaging stories for our daily publication online and in print. An ideal candidate is passionate about sports, has strong writing skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Prep football games are held a majority of the time on Fridays, but over the course of the Practicum other events in other sports will be available throughout the week.
Sports Photographer
The Maryville Daily Times is looking for a practicum sports photographer to help with coverage this upcoming prep season. The Daily Times covers six local high schools (Alcoa, Maryville, William Blount, Heritage, Greenback and Eagleton). Responsibilities include attending games, capturing dynamic and engaging shots, and submitting high-quality photos for our online and print publications. An ideal candidate is passionate about photography, has their own dedicated camera/equipment, and excels in fast-paced settings and under deadline pressure. Prep football games are held a majority of the time on Fridays, but over the course of the Practicum other events in other sports will be available throughout the week.
