Paralympics 2024
The School of Journalism and Electronic Media is excited to offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Paris and cover the 2024 Paralympic Games. Participating students will gain real-world experience working alongside more than 3,000 other sports journalists from around the world covering this prestigious international sporting event — and the personal stories behind it.
The trip is funded by the College of Communication and Information and will be part of a 2024 summer session class on sports media and the Paralympics.

Summer Class 2024 – JEM 495: Sports Media and the Paralympics

Details: Cover the 2024 Paralympics in Paris! This class will begin online where students will learn context about the Paralympics and conduct background reporting on various stories related to the 2024 Games. The course will conclude with a week-long reporting experience in Paris funded by CCI.
Participants will be selected through an application process and preference will be given to students with a sports media background and/or media and storytelling experience. To apply, submit a cover letter, your resume, at least two work samples and contact information for two references to ewhites2@utk.edu. Applications are due by May 20, 2023.
