Barbara Kaye ha published eighty-four peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, presented 110 peer-reviewed conference papers and panels, and co-authored three textbooks—one of which was named “Textbook of the Year, 2021” by the Broadcast Education Association. Her scholarly works have been cited 10,922 times (Google Scholar, August 2024). She also as the most cited article in Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly and Atlantic Journal of Communication.
She earned the College of Communication and Information “Researcher of the Year” award in 2004 and 2018. She was selected to attend the Scripps Howard Academic Leadership Academy and has been twice named a NATPE fellow.
Kaye has taught six different graduate courses and twenty different undergraduate courses. She has also developed and taught fully online courses using Blackboard, Sakai, and Canvas course management systems. She taught in Italy (spring 2006 and summer 2012), Austria (summer 2007), and Taiwan (August 2017).
She has led and/or served on five dissertation committees, twenty-five thesis/projects committees, and seventeen independent studies. Her administrative experience includes serving as the associate program chair/assistant director of the Online Master of Arts Program at Johns Hopkins University and Telecommunications Area Head at Valdosta State University.
